Ciri has a chance, by becoming Empress to curb a lot of the barbarity that has been going on. Without her as a benevolent monarch, calling the shots, who knows how much worse things are going to get. She would be able to outlaw and put a stop to the rampant persecution of non humans and the violence that smaller kingdoms allow to go on.
The only way that Ciri becomes a Witcher is if a) you actively discourage her from meeting her biological father or b) you don't even tell her that Emhyr wants to speak with her. Another telling point in favor of the empress ending is the confrontation between Ciri and the White Frost.Geralt approaches, and a very alive, very unscathed Ciri turns to him with a curt "Is it done?" Geralt gives Ciri a Witcher sword, signifying her new identity as a Witcher. This ending is widely known as the best ending out of the three major endings in The Witcher 3. Though, there are some that think Ciri becoming Empress is the best ending.

That's not accurate; for the Empress ending you have to go visit the Emperor AND Nilfgaard has to win the war. If you don't kill Radovid in Reason of State, or if you do kill him but side with Dijkstra so that he rules instead, then Nilfgaard loses the war and Ciri becomes a Witcher still. 6 more replies.
